Monday's suck!!
It's only 10:00 and I already feel like I should have stayed in bed. It's one of those days where nothing is going right and I'm grumpy as HELL!!

Meeting the kids

"S___ made it back home safe. She said to say HI. She thought you were cool. A___ would probably think you were cool too if she wasn't guarding me like the Gustapo!"

"Glad S___ made it home safely. Tell her I said Hi in return. She is very cool herself and I think she and I are alike in a lot of ways. Definitely free spirits. It is one of the things I liked about her. A___'s behavior was understandable. As I said, she has seen you hurt before and doesn't want to see it again. I guess I hope that eventually A___ will warm up but I don't blame her for being guarded. I tend to proceed with caution myself. Plus I have just come on the scene, she doesn't know me and I admire her for being protective of her dad. A___ will definitely make someone earn her trust and I like that about her too."

St. Patrick's Day in Butte

Wow, what a good time. Drove down on Saturday morning through beautiful sunshine and made it to the corner of Park and Montana just in time to watch the parade. It was the prettiest day that we've had in Montana so far this year and it couldn't have been better. It was an absolute blast!!


We spent the rest of the day drinking beer, having lunch, hitting the infamous M & M bar and the Vu Villa and the KC hall and generally hanging out with friends and having a great time.


I can't wait to go back next year!

That's it! Up the cardio and the circuit and more outdoor running.

Sometimes this whole thing can be so discouraging. My heart hasn't been in it for a week or so. I'm still running but not with the same enthusiasm. I need to get that back. Hopefully now that the weather has improved I can get outside more and renew some energy.

Four-celled organisms

"It's so simple and yet so many people miss it. Men/boys are so obvious about everything.
We're basically four-celled organisms. I really think men/boys have four basic needs. Address these, and we're pretty easy to tame. 1) Pay us; 2) feed us; 3) f**k us; 4) amuse us.
The amusing part comprises our love for sports on TV and watching the Godfather and SlapShot 200 times. Money, food/drink, sex, and amusement. That's it. We're THAT basic."

So what are your plans?

I'm not a planner but I can get into planning mode occasionally. If it's something that I know requires some forethought and preparation (like solo hiking in Glacier Park and staying at Sperry Chalet) then I'll plan in advance but ask me what I'm doing this weekend and I have no idea.

This year though I've actually made plans for St. Patrick's Day - in Butte America baby!


Yep, for the first time ever I'm going to Butte for St. Patrick's Day. If you aren't familiar with Butte on St. Patrick's Day think mini Mardi Gras! The day is full of parades and frivolity and green beer. LOTS of green beer.

Some friends have managed to procure a hotel room on the busiest day of the year in Butte and a group of us are going down to celebrate our Irish ancestry and basically get silly. I better stock up on green beads.
