Leeeeeeeeeeeeeet's get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumble!

Is it just me or is winter getting old? I'm tired of cold weather and a powerful wind swirling by my windows high on the third floor. I'm tired of gray skies and potential snow storms. I have spring fever so bad I can taste it.

I want spring and BBQ's and sunshine and April showers and May flowers and baseball. I want BASEBALL!! I want 162 games of heartbreak and triumph. I want the American League and the National League and the All-Star Game. I wants me some hard hitting, high flying, bases runnin' baseball!

Walt Whitman once said, "I see great things in baseball. It's our game, the American game. It will repair our losses and be a blessing to us." You could look it up.

It's Savage Love

Some of you may have noticed the link in the sidebar for Savage Love, a sexy little weekly in the Seattle Stranger.

I got turned on (no pun intended) to this lovely little bit of internet wisdom by a friend of mine (who just so happens to turn me on). If you haven't done so already then be sure to check it out.

It's been an entertaining and educational read so far. I've discovered different positions and sexual fetishes that I never would have imagined. What fun it would be to actually put some of them to use.

His advice is witty and amusing and the responses can be somewhat shocking (which just may be a fetish of mine, being shocked).

I'm already reading on a regular basis. My next order of business is to peruse the archives for information that will really get the blood flowing (mine and someone else's). Oh, and if you find anything in there that really paddles your canoe, leave it in the comments.

Sometimes it just takes you a while to find your groove.

Conversations in the locker room...

Her: I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Me: You might not be doing anything wrong. Guys are different than women. They don't feel the need to talk all the time, even if it's just to check in and see how things are going.

Her: But he never calls me.

Me: Do you call him?

Her: Sometimes but not often. I guess I think that if he wants to talk to me that he'll call me.

Me: A friend of mine used to call me all the time but it got to be a little overwhelming I think. I mean, he works, I work. What are we going to talk about everyday? Our boring days at work? Still, hearing from him once or twice a week would be nice but would you rather have him call because he wants to or because he feels obligated to?

Her: Because he wants to.

Me: Exactly! So if it bothers you that much, ask him about it. Maybe he's working. I don't think guys realize that we tend to feel neglected if they don't make some kind of effort on a regular basis. Then again, maybe we give them too much credit and make excuses. We speculate as to whether he's busy or maybe he's just a dick or maybe, just maybe, he really isn't in to us like we would hope...

*silence*

Me: Just talk to him.

Plans, plans, plans

I've got plans people, and they're coming together nicely.

I'm working on a hot air balloon ride this spring. The idea came to me via a friend and I'm running with it. Some final arrangements to be made and then everything should get off the ground - literally.

I'm working on putting together some kayaking up in the Flathead area as well. I did some kayaking while I was in Hawaii and it was a blast and now I've found a place here in Montana where I can do it too.

I'm psyching myself up for my first sky diving adventure. I tried to make plans to jump last fall but the timing was off. Hopefully I won't have to actually be pushed out of the plane but once I get in it I'll be damned if I'm riding anything but air back down.

I've also picked up a new backpack and I'm getting a new sleeping bag. Trail books have been purchased and read with enthusiasm. Maps have been researched. I'm making plans for spring, summer and fall hikes in Glacier Park and the Bob Marshall wilderness plus some volunteer efforts that are going to get me into the wilds. I've made a reservation at Sperry Chalet which will be a nice respite from the long solo hike I'm planning in Glacier.

Yes, I know it's only January. I know it's early but I am so excited for all the plans that are progressing. Now I just need spring people, ya hear me? Spring!!!

How'd you get that scar?

"You should see the grizzly..."

"An old injury in 'Nam. I don't like to talk about it."

"It was a perilous Twister incident..."

"The biggest paper cut you ever saw..."

OR

"Rollerblading."

;)
